Lazio Humiliate 10-Man Sassuolo 6-2 in Serie A Thriller

Lazio’s Ruthless Start Silences Sassuolo

Lazio annihilated 10-man Sassuolo 6-2 in a Serie A bloodbath that saw the hosts collapse spectacularly after Kenneth Taylor struck after just 2 minutes. The Dutch midfielder’s early strike set the tone before Gustav Isaksen (13′) and Romano Floriani Mussolini (16′) sent the away end into delirium – Mussolini’s goal surviving a VAR check to compound the misery.

Sassuolo’s Nightmare Unfolds

Kristian Thorstvedt’s 31st-minute red card for a reckless challenge turned resistance into surrender, though Sebastiano Esposito’s 43rd-minute strike briefly offered hope. That illusion shattered when Mattia Zaccagni curled home in stoppage time before Tijjani Noslin’s second-half brace completed Sassuolo’s humiliation – their 42% possession and 0.8 xG telling the story of a team outclassed.

Lazio’s Clinical Statement

The visitors’ 58% possession and 3.59 xG showcased Gattuso’s machine at full throttle, with Zaccagni orchestrating three goals despite a 50th-minute penalty miss. This was Lazio at their most predatory – converting 6 of their 16 shots while Sassuolo mustered just 1 on target all night.

For Aquilani’s men, the manner of collapse will sting far longer than the scoreline. Lazio march on having made Serie A sit up – Sassuolo left picking through the wreckage of their worst showing this season.
