Flávio Stuns Abha as Al-Faisaly Snatch 1-0 Pro League Win

Abha’s fortress crumbled in the 70th minute as Flávio’s clinical strike handed Al-Faisaly FC a smash-and-grab 1-0 victory in a Pro League Matchweek 8 clash dripping with tension at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium.

Abha Dominate But Can’t Land the Killer Blow

The home side came roaring out the gates, their 58% possession translating into 15 total shots – four pinging the woodwork in a first-half onslaught that left Al-Faisaly clinging on. Nabil Fekir pulled the strings between the lines, threading passes that saw Abha rack up 11 corners before the break while Al-Faisaly’s Flávio earned a yellow card for a desperate 41st-minute lunge.

Al-Faisaly’s Ruthless Efficiency Decides It

Against the run of play, the moment came – Abdulaziz Al-Bishi surged down the right in the 70th minute and squared it perfectly for Flávio to atone for his earlier booking, slotting past Dejan Leon to ignite the away section. Abha threw on attackers – Rosier and Al-Ghamdi entering the fray at 76 minutes – but Al-Faisaly’s low block held firm through six minutes of stoppage time.

What This Pro League Result Means

For Al-Faisaly, this was daylight robbery dressed as tactical mastery – just three shots on target all game but three points in the bag. Abha’s 1.52 xG tells the story of a side that did everything but score, their 58% possession and 15 shots now just cruel numbers in the record books. The visitors move up the table with this gutsy away performance while Abha are left to wonder how their dominance yielded nothing.
