Tanger Stun Fès with Dramatic 2-1 Comeback

Ittihad Tanger 2-1 Maghreb Fès: A Botola Pro Night of Redemption

Ittihad Tanger roared back from a goal down to conquer Maghreb Fès 2-1 in a Botola Pro Matchday 4 epic that twisted from despair to delirium inside a raucous Stade Ibn Batouta. Christopher Ibayi’s first-half strike threatened to derail Tanger’s momentum — until Mohamed Saoud and Hamza El Moudene authored a seven-minute second-half blitz that sent the home faithful into ecstasy.

Fès Strike First Through Ibayi’s Precision

The visitors’ intent crackled from the whistle — Khalid Baba’s 2nd-minute yellow a warning shot before Ibayi’s surgical 32nd-minute finish, assisted by the cautioned Baba. Tanger’s backline crumbled under Fès’ wing-play, the 58% possession stat painting Fès as controllers before the break.

Tanger’s Fury Unleashed in Seven Mad Minutes

Whatever Abdelhak Benchikha said at halftime worked. By the 74th minute, Mohamed Saoud — already on a yellow — channeled tension into a thunderous equalizer. Three minutes later, Hamza El Moudene, himself booked in a frantic first half, became the hero with a poacher’s finish. Suddenly, Fès’ six corners meant nothing — Tanger’s five shots on target to Fès’ two telling the tale of a siege broken.

Botola Pro Momentum Shifts in the North

This was more than three points. For Tanger, it’s a statement after two shaky Matchdays — proof they can claw back from the brink. For Fès, Rui Almeida faces questions after his side’s second-half collapse despite early dominance. Both teams now look ahead to Matchday 5 knowing every point in Morocco’s top flight carries the weight of history.
