Essallami Stuns Témara as Kawkab Marrakech Win 1-0

Widad Témara 0-1 Kawkab Marrakech: Early Strike Proves Decisive

Saleh Essallami’s fifth-minute thunderbolt was enough for Kawkab Marrakech to steal a 1-0 victory from Widad Témara’s grasp in a Botola Pro thriller that left the home fans clutching their heads in disbelief.

The decisive moment came before many had even settled into their seats. Essallami, lurking on the edge of the box, lashed home Hamza Smaali’s cutback with a first-time rocket that left Rabie Ajlid rooted. The Kawkab Marrakech bench erupted, sensing an improbable smash-and-grab was on.

Widad Témara’s Frustration Mounts

What followed was 85 minutes of relentless Widad Témara pressure that yielded 65% possession and a staggering 21 corners but no breakthrough. Zakaria Labib volleyed over from six yards. Oussama Essabri skimmed the crossbar. Five on-target efforts peppered Kawkab’s goal, but each time keeper Abdelkarim El Ouaad stood firm.

Tempers flared on 76 minutes as both Rabie Bounnit and goalscorer Essallami saw yellow in a heated exchange, encapsulating Témara’s rising desperation. Coach Youssef Safri’s quadruple substitution between 63-80 minutes disrupted play masterfully, with Nabil Khali’s cynical 66th-minute booking typifying Kawkab’s streetwise game management.

Kawkab Marrakech’s Defensive Masterclass

The visitors’ 35% possession belied their defensive organization. Kawkab Marrakech funneled Widad Témara wide, restricting them to just eight shots from 21 corners. When the hosts did break through, El Ouaad produced five saves – none more crucial than his 88th-minute reaction stop from Tawfieq Ijrouten’s point-blank header.

As the fourth official signaled seven added minutes, Kawkab’s exhausted players threw bodies in front of everything. The final whistle sparked visceral contrasts – Kawkab’s staff embracing in tears, Témara’s stars collapsed on the turf.

What This Result Means

For Kawkab Marrakech, this was daylight robbery executed to perfection. The win lifts them clear of early-season trouble while exposing their clinical edge – scoring with their first real attack. But for Widad Témara, this will haunt. Their 13 shots, five on target and 65% domination yielded nothing but bitter frustration in a match they controlled everywhere but the scoreboard.

Both sides now regroup for Matchday 5 – Kawkab buoyed by resilience, Témara facing urgent questions about their finishing. One early moment, one ruthless finish separated these rivals in a match that proved football’s oldest truth: goals change games.
