Al Khaleej Saihat Stun Al-Fateh with Dramatic 3-2 Comeback

In a thrilling Pro League encounter, Al Khaleej Saihat overcame Al-Fateh 3-2 in a match that swung dramatically in the final minutes. Al-Fateh looked poised for victory after leading 2-0, but Al Khaleej Saihat’s resilience and clinical finishing turned the game on its head.

Al-Fateh’s Dominant First Half

The home side started brightly, and their pressure paid off in the 33rd minute when Lukáš Haraslín found the back of the net, assisted by Mourad Batna. Al-Fateh doubled their lead just before the hour mark, with Wilfried Kanga converting a chance created by Hossam Essadak. The hosts were in control, but their discipline wavered as Ali Al-Hassan and Ali Alamine both received yellow cards in quick succession.

Al Khaleej Saihat’s Resurgence

Despite trailing, Al Khaleej Saihat maintained their composure and began to assert themselves. Musa Barrow ignited their comeback in the 78th minute, tapping in a precise assist from Saleh Al Amri. The equalizer came just six minutes later, Joshua King slotting home with Mateo Benegas providing the setup. The visitors completed their stunning turnaround in stoppage time, Omar Mascarell firing home the winner to cap off a remarkable fightback.

Key Moments and Stats

Al Khaleej Saihat’s dominance was evident in their 62% possession and 16 total shots, compared to Al-Fateh’s 38% possession and 12 shots. The visitors also won more corners (10 to 7) and committed fewer fouls (16 to 10). Despite Al-Fateh’s early lead, their inability to maintain defensive solidity proved costly.

What This Means for Both Teams

For Al-Fateh, this defeat is a bitter pill to swallow, as they squandered a commanding position. They will need to regroup quickly to recover from this setback. Al Khaleej Saihat, meanwhile, will take immense confidence from their never-say-die attitude, which earned them a vital three points in the Pro League.
