West Hammer Wrexham 6-0 in Championship Rout

West Ham Crush Wrexham 6-0 in Championship Showcase

West Ham delivered a devastating performance to hammer Wrexham 6-0 in the Championship, sending a thunderous statement of intent with their biggest win of the season. The Hammers were relentless from the first whistle, scoring three before half-time and adding three more in a brutal second half that left battered Wrexham praying for the final whistle.

Bowen Sparks West Ham Onslaught

The London Stadium erupted in the 28th minute when Jarrod Bowen fired West Ham ahead, slotting home after superb work from Felipe Morato. Before Wrexham could regroup, Joel Piroe doubled the lead nine minutes later with a cool finish assisted by Taty Castellanos. The visitors were reeling, and Konstantinos Mavropanos added a third on the stroke of half-time, powering in Bowen’s corner to send the Hammers into the break in dreamland.

West Ham Turn the Screws After Half-Time

Any hope of a Wrexham fightback was extinguished within three minutes of the restart as Castellanos made it 4-0, finishing smartly after being played in by Kyle Walker-Peters. The Welsh side made four changes on 67 minutes in a desperate bid to stem the tide, but Mohamadou Kante added a fifth just nine minutes later with a clinical strike. Manor Solomon rounded off the scoring in the 82nd minute, capping a man-of-the-match performance with a fine individual effort.

Wrexham’s Nightmare in London

For Wrexham, it was a humbling experience. They failed to register a single shot on target in the second half and managed just one attempt on goal all game – a stark contrast to West Ham’s 19 efforts. The Red Dragons’ defence was torn apart time and again, leaving manager Phil Parkinson to rue a chastening evening. West Ham, by contrast, were imperious, controlling 53% of possession and completing 90% of their passes in a complete team display.

This result propels West Ham to the top of the Championship table, their Premier League pedigree on full display against the promoted side. For Wrexham, it’s a reality check of the highest order, but they’ll take heart from a six-game unbeaten run that preceded this defeat. Both sides will look to build on this result when the Championship resumes next weekend.
