Ojeda Stunner Seals 1-0 Orlando Win Over Revs

Orlando City Edge New England Revolution 1-0 in MLS Grind

Braian Ojeda’s thunderbolt on the stroke of halftime sealed a 1-0 victory for Orlando City over New England Revolution in a match where defensive resilience trumped possession dominance in Major League Soccer’s Regular Season Week 34.

New England Revolution Dominate But Lack Cutting Edge

The Revs controlled 65% possession and completed 641 passes to Orlando’s 373, but their sterile dominance was summed up by Carles Gil’s anonymous display before his 60th-minute substitution. Matt Turner made three saves but was left helpless when Ojeda unleashed a 25-yard missile that arrowed into the top corner in first-half stoppage time – Orlando’s only shot on target of the half.

Orlando City’s Defensive Masterclass

Maxime Crépeau’s four saves, including a stunning reaction stop from Dor Turgeman in the 68th minute, preserved Orlando’s lead. The Lions blocked six shots and made 15 clearances as their low block frustrated New England, who managed just three shots on target despite eight corners. The only blemish was Crépeau’s 91st-minute yellow card for timewasting as Orlando saw out seven minutes of stoppage time.

What This Means for Both MLS Sides

This gritty win keeps Orlando’s playoff hopes alive in the Eastern Conference, while New England’s lack of clinical edge sees them drop crucial points in the race for home-field advantage. The Revs must rediscover their scoring touch quickly, while Orlando proved they can grind out results when not at their fluid best – a vital trait as the MLS season reaches its climax.
