Aloko Stuns Miami with Last-Gasp Equaliser in 3-3 Thriller

Rodolfo Aloko’s 90th-minute equaliser snatched a dramatic 3-3 draw for Charlotte against Inter Miami in a breathtaking MLS Regular Season clash at DRV PNK Stadium. What began as a seemingly routine win for Miami turned into a heart-stopping thriller as Charlotte mounted an extraordinary comeback in the Florida night.

Inter Miami Dominate Early Stages

The hosts started like a hurricane, their 60% possession dominance paying dividends early. Ian Fray, the young defender, silenced Charlotte just 14 minutes in with a thunderous header from a corner, sending the pink-clad faithful into raptures.

Miami doubled their lead in the 33rd minute through Luis Suárez, the Uruguayan maestro clinically finishing Germán Berterame’s precise through ball. When Rodrigo De Paul made it 3-0 just before halftime, rifling home from Segovia’s cutback, it appeared game over.

Charlotte’s Remarkable Comeback

But Charlotte, fueled by Aloko’s introduction, rewrote the script. Liel Abada sparked hope with two goals in five second-half minutes – first converting Tyger Smalls’ cross, then finishing Pep Biel’s defence-splitting pass.

As Miami retreated, Charlotte pressed. The visitors’ perseverance was rewarded when substitute Aloko timed his run perfectly to latch onto a long ball and slot past Drake Callender in the dying seconds, sending the travelling Charlotte fans into delirium.

What This Result Means

For Miami, this feels like two points dropped despite their attacking fireworks. Their playoff hopes take a dent.

Charlotte’s never-say-die spirit earns them a vital point in their postseason push. Aloko’s heroics will be talked about for weeks.
