Fernández Stunner Denied as Tigre Snatch 2-2 Clausura Draw

Clausura Chaos as Tigre Steal Last-Gasp Point Against Independiente Rivadavia

The Estadio Bautista Gargantini erupted in despair as Manuel Fernández broke Independiente Rivadavia hearts with a 92nd-minute equaliser to secure Tigre a 2-2 draw in a pulsating Clausura clash. What seemed certain to be a home victory slipped through their fingers in the cruelest fashion.

Early Exchanges Set Tone for Argentine Drama

Matías Fernández sent the home crowd into raptures after 20 minutes, finishing clinically from Juan Elordi’s incisive pass. But Tigre’s response was swift – Alan Barrionuevo powering home Jabes Saralegui’s delivery just six minutes later. The visitors’ celebrations turned to concern when Ignacio Peluffo saw yellow a minute later, forcing an early substitution.

Florentín Strikes as Independiente Rivadavia Seize Control

José Ignacio Florentín looked to have won it for the hosts seven minutes after the restart, his thunderbolt from distance leaving Federico Zenobio rooted. With Tigre registering just 43% possession despite their 57% control of the ball, the game appeared to be slipping away – until Fernández converted Federico Álvarez’s cross in the dying embers.

Final Whistle Leaves Both Sides with Mixed Emotions

The draw keeps Independiente Rivadavia searching for consistency in the Clausura, while Tigre will cherish this as a point gained from the jaws of defeat. With seven yellow cards brandished in a typically feisty Argentine encounter, both managers have defensive discipline to address before their next fixtures.
