Briasco Brace Powers Barracas Past Huracán 2-0

Barracas Central Deliver Tactical Masterclass in 2-0 Clausura Triumph

Barracas Central reignited their Liga Profesional Argentina Clausura campaign with a 2-0 demolition of Huracán at home, powered by Norberto Briasco’s lethal first-half opener and second-half clincher. The result, carved from defiance and precision in equal measure, saw Daniel Ayude’s side climb away from danger while leaving Huracán’s top-four hopes flickering.

Barracas Strike Early Through Briasco’s Blade

The script flipped just nine minutes in – Kevin Jappert’s raking diagonal found Briasco peeling off his marker, the striker emphatically burying first-time into the bottom corner before the Huracán backline could blink. The early lead electrified the Estadio Barracas stands, their 42% possession strategy validated in devastating fashion.

Rodrigo Bogarín’s 12th-minute yellow for a tactical foul underscored Barracas’ physical commitment, their 10 first-half fouls strangling Huracán’s rhythm. Diego Martínez’s side managed just one blocked shot before the break, César Ibáñez’s 43rd-minute booking for dissent summing up their mounting frustration.

Briasco Ices It as Huracán’s Powder Goes Damp

The second half began with Huracán’s double substitution gamble – Thaiel Peralta and Ignacio Pussetto thrown on at the hour mark. But Briasco shattered any comeback illusions two minutes later, pouncing on loose defending to lash home his second from close range, the striker’s 1.33 xG haul mocking Huracán’s 0.37 metric.

Fabio Pereyra’s 63rd-minute yellow card for a desperate lunge typified Huracán’s evening – all possession (58%), no penetration. Their eight shots yielded zero on target, Oscar Cortés and Leonardo Gil’s late introductions doing little to spark a lifeless attack. Barracas’ six corners to Huracán’s five told its own story – Ayude’s men carved the clearer chances despite seeing less of the ball.

What This Means for Both Sides

For Barracas Central, this was survival mode executed to perfection. Moving six points clear of the drop zone, Briasco’s brace announced their intent to climb the Clausura table rather than limp through it. Huracán’s top-four credentials took another dent – their fourth winless outing in six leaving Europa League dreams dangling by threads.

The final whistle saw Barracas’ players engulfed by euphoric teammates, this victory tasting sweeter for its tactical discipline. As Briasco departed to a standing ovation on 72 minutes, even the departing Huracán fans couldn’t deny – tonight belonged to the underdogs, their bite far sharper than the visitors’ bark.
