Moreira Magic Seals Milan Derby Delight in 3-1 Win

AC Milan 3-1 Inter: Derby Dominance as Rossoneri Roar Back

AC Milan tore up the script with a sensational 3-1 victory over Inter in Serie A’s 10th round Derby della Madonnina – a victory built on teenage brilliance and veteran steel that sends shockwaves through the Scudetto race.

AC Milan’s Lightning Start

The Rossoneri exploded from the blocks like a team possessed. Diego Moreira, the 19-year-old whirlwind, tormented Inter’s right flank from the first whistle, teeing up Christian Pulisic for a ruthless fourth-minute opener. Six minutes later, Moreira danced past Matteo Akanji again before cutting back for Adrien Rabiot to thunder home Milan’s second – San Siro’s red half in raptures.

Inter’s Brief Response

Alessandro Bastoni’s 22nd-minute header briefly silenced the Curva Sud, the Nerazzurri defender rising highest from a corner to halve the deficit. For 20 minutes, Inter’s 57% possession told as Milan clung on – but the Rossoneri defense held firm, Mike Maignan producing three stunning first-half saves to deny Marcus Thuram.

Diego Moreira’s Moment

Just before halftime, the kid stole the show. Picking up possession 30 yards out, Moreira drove at the heart of Inter’s defense before unleashing a 20-yard rocket that fizzed past Josep Martínez at his near post – Milan’s teenage sensation wheeling away in disbelief as the stadium erupted.

Inter’s Frustration Boils Over

The second half became a tale of Nerazzurri frustration. A 75th-minute VAR reversal denied Inter a penalty after Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s theatrical fall. Carlos Augusto’s late yellow for a wild challenge on Yunus Musah epitomized their fraying discipline. Milan’s defense, marshaled superbly by Koni De Winter, stood tall against 19 Inter shots – Maignan finishing with seven saves.

What This Means

This wasn’t just three points – it was a statement. Milan’s triumph ends Inter’s six-game unbeaten derby run, catapulting them into the Scudetto conversation. For Cristian Chivu’s side, the manner of collapse – particularly defensively – will alarm. The Derby della Madonnina has spoken: Milan’s kids are alright.
