Talleres Stroll Past Riestra 3-0 in Clausura Domination

Riestra 0-3 Talleres Cordoba – Clausura Round 15 Report

Talleres Cordoba delivered a ruthless masterclass in efficiency, dismantling Deportivo Riestra 3-0 at the Estadio Guillermo Laza to maintain their Clausura charge. The scoreline flattered the hosts, who were outclassed from the first whistle to the last.

Talleres’ Early Control Pays Off

The visitors struck first in the 25th minute when Valentin Fascendini coolly slotted home Matias Galarza’s cutback, punishing Riestra’s limp defending. Galarza danced past two challenges before picking out his teammate – the finish as clinical as the buildup was slick. Riestra’s frustration boiled over when Milton Celiz saw yellow for a reckless lunge just 11 minutes later, their desperation already showing.

Riestra’s False Dawn

Manager Gustavo Duró threw on fresh legs at halftime with double substitutions, but any momentum was extinguished within minutes. A tangle of yellow cards followed – Federico Fattori’s booking for Talleres in the 63rd minute the prelude to total collapse. Mateo Caceres made it 2-0 in the 68th minute with a vicious strike that left goalkeeper Matias Arzamendia rooted, before Agustin Alvarez Martinez rubbed salt in the wounds just five minutes later, capitalizing on defensive chaos.

By the Numbers: Talleres’ Surgical Precision

Remarkably, Talleres scored three goals from just 0.24 xG – their five shots on target all coming from prime positions. They dominated possession (60%) without overplaying, while Riestra’s desperate 16 shots yielded just 0.95 xG as Arzamendia’s five saves prevented further humiliation.

What This Means for Both Sides

For Talleres, this was a statement win that keeps them firmly in the title conversation. Next up: a derby clash that could define their season. Riestra’s survival hopes take another hit – Duró’s men have now conceded eight in their last three, their defensive frailties brutally exposed. The alarm bells are ringing.
