Paris Saint-Germain's 6-0 victory was fully deserved, outperforming their xG of 2.75 with ruthless efficiency while Villarreal managed just 0.74 xG from their 14 shots. The game was effectively over inside 17 minutes as PSG scored four times — João Neves (9'), Désiré Doué (12'), Senny Mayulu (13'), and Fabián Ruiz (17') — capitalising on Villarreal's defensive disarray. PSG's 71% possession translated into 22 total shots (12 on target), with Ruiz adding a second (50') and David Boly completing the rout (78').

Villarreal's 29% possession yielded only 2 shots on target, with PSG's high press (19 fouls conceded by Villarreal vs PSG's 4) disrupting their build-up. Maghnes Akliouche (2 assists) and Neves (1 goal, 1 assist) were key creators, while Ruiz's brace from midfield epitomised PSG's dominance. The decisive stat: PSG scored 6 goals from 12 shots on target (50% conversion) — a clinical display that buried the game before halftime.
