Estrela
Primeira Liga Matchday 9: Estrela 0-2 Casa Pia
The dream of Estrela’s home faithful turned to dust as Casa Pia executed a brutal 2-0 away victory in Primeira Liga’s ninth round, leaving the hosts stranded near the relegation zone while the visitors climbed toward safety.
Estrela’s Bright Start Fades Quickly
The Estrela Amadora crowd roared their team forward in the opening exchanges, but Casa Pia’s defensive discipline cut the home side’s attacks short time and again. Without a single shot on target in the first half, Estrela’s bright start collapsed into frustration as the visitors grew into the game.
Casa Pia’s Clinical Edge
The breakthrough came against the run of early possession. Casa Pia’s first real chance bore fruit just after the half-hour mark—a ruthless counter that left the home defence scrambling. The dagger came deep in the second half, sealing Estrela’s fate with surgical precision. No late heroics this time; just silent disbelief in the stands.
What This Means for Both Clubs
For Estrela, the emptiness of a goalless home performance leaves them nervously glancing over their shoulder. Casa Pia, meanwhile, march forward with renewed confidence, this away victory a potential turning point in their campaign. The Primeira Liga table now tells a story of two clubs heading in opposite directions.
