Cherries Devour 10-Man Milan 3-0 in Europa League Rout

Bournemouth 3-0 AC Milan – Europa League Group Stage

The Vitality Stadium erupted as Bournemouth dismantled Italian giants AC Milan 3-0 in a Europa League masterclass that turned on Mike Maignan’s sixth-minute red card. Justin Kluivert’s penalty opener set the tone before Marcus Tavernier doubled the lead from another spot-kick, with substitute Amine Adli capping a dominant display late on.

Bournemouth’s Dream Start

Francisco Evanilson tumbled under Maignan’s reckless challenge inside six minutes – VAR confirming the penalty before the Milan keeper saw red for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Kluivert stepped up, sending substitute keeper Lorenzo Torriani the wrong way with ice-cool precision. The Cherries smelled blood, Tyler Adams crashing into tackles while Milan’s reshuffled defence creaked under relentless pressure.

Milan’s Nightmare Unfolds

Pervis Estupinan’s yellow card for hacking down Tavernier preceded Bournemouth’s second penalty – the winger converting himself after Koni De Winter handled. At 2-0 down with 10 men after just 32 minutes, Ruben Amorim’s side collapsed into disarray. The stats told the story: 64% possession, 20 shots to Milan’s pathetic 3, and zero shots on target from the Rossoneri all night.

AC Milan’s Humiliation Complete

Adli’s 84th-minute tap-in from Alex Toth’s cross rubbed salt in Milan’s wounds, the substitute wheeled away laughing at the sheer absurdity of the scoreline. Fikayo Tomori’s late booking summed up Milan’s frustration as Premier League journeymen outclassed Champions League regulars. Bournemouth’s 3.22 expected goals to Milan’s 0.17 wasn’t just dominance – it was execution.

What This Means

For Bournemouth, a statement victory that echoes across Europe. For Milan? A night of shame that raises serious questions about Amorim’s project. The Cherries sit pretty in Group F while the Italians face an uphill battle to qualify – their next Europa League fixture now a must-win after this historic humiliation on the south coast.
