PSG ruthlessly efficient as Hakimi hat-trick sinks Le Havre
The 5-1 scoreline somewhat flatters PSG given the narrow gap in expected goals (1.95) but Luis Enrique's side were clinical where it mattered. Despite Le Havre creating more overall chances (14 to 15) and shots in the box (10 to 11), PSG's quality shone through with 10 shots on target compared to the hosts' 5. They also won the decisive moments in an 8-minute spell between the 26th and 55th minutes, scoring 3 unanswered goals to flip the game on its head.
Achraf Hakimi was the standout performer, completing a hat-trick with goals in the 28th, 55th and 69th minutes - two of which were unassisted runs from deep. The Moroccan also provided an assist for Senny Mayulu's strike, underlining his attacking influence from right-back. Mika Godts and Mayulu also got on the scoresheet in a free-flowing PSG attack that made the most of their 71% possession.
Le Havre's early promise, encapsulated by Josh Maja's 18th-minute opener, faded as PSG's technical superiority told. The hosts' 2.04 xG shows they were not without threat, but ultimately Hakimi's standout individual display decided the contest, with PSG converting chances at a rate of 33% compared to Le Havre's 7%.
