Future FC defy possession to edge clinical victory
Future FC's 2-1 win was deserved on the balance of play, despite being comprehensively out-possessed (36% vs 64%) and out-shot (12 vs 12 overall, 5 vs 2 on target). Their efficiency in the decisive moments proved crucial, converting two of their three shots on target into goals, while Wadi Degla's profligacy saw them score just once from five on-target attempts.
The turning point came in a six-minute second-half spell, with Mahmoud Mamdouh (60') and Mahmoud Hassan El Halawani (65') cancelling out Seif Teka's (53') opener for Degla. Both Future goals were assisted by Arnold Eba, highlighting his creative influence. Degla's dominance of set-pieces (10 corners vs 4) and passing accuracy (321 vs 154) failed to translate into clear chances, with just one blocked shot to Future's two suggesting their attacks lacked penetration.
The decisive stat was Future's clinical finishing: they scored with both their shots on target compared to Degla's 20% conversion rate (1 from 5). For all their possession, Degla failed to make their territorial advantage count when it mattered most.
