Tarragona Double Seals 3-1 Comeback Win for Union Santa Fe

Union Santa Fe Stun Aldosivi With Second Half Blitz

Aldosivi 1-3 Union Santa Fe. The Liga Profesional Argentina Clausura Round 6 clash at Estadio José María Minella witnessed a dramatic turnaround as Union Santa Fe recovered from a goal down to defeat Aldosivi in emphatic fashion.

The home side drew first blood in the 18th minute when Andrés Vombergar fired Aldosivi ahead, finishing off Alan Sosa’s assist in clinical fashion. The hosts dominated the early exchanges, forcing Union Santa Fe keeper Matías Mansilla into two smart saves before the break.

Aldosavi Collapse After Menossi Equaliser

But the visitors emerged transformed after halftime. Six minutes into the second period, Lucas Menossi latched onto Marcelo Estigarribia’s pass to equalise for Union Santa Fe, sparking a rapid-fire collapse from Aldosivi.

Just 11 minutes later, Cristian Tarragona arrived like a wrecking ball. First, he took advantage of defensive frailty to slot home Union Santa Fe’s second in the 62nd minute. Two minutes after that, he converted Mauro Luna Diale’s assist to make it 3-1 and effectively kill off Aldosivi’s resistance.

Tarragona The Hero As Union Santa Fe Climb

The visitors could even afford Julian Palacios’ late red card as they saw out the win comfortably. Statistics told the story of Union Santa Fe’s dominance: 57% possession, 18 shots to Aldosivi’s 13, and a far superior 82% passing accuracy.

For Aldosivi manager Israel Damonte, this defeat extended a worrying winless streak that sees his side languishing near the foot of the Clausura table. Union Santa Fe, meanwhile, climbed into the top half as Cristian Tarragona cemented his status as the hero of the hour.
