Celtic Edge Hibs 2-1 in Premiership Thriller

Celtic snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Hibernian in a Premiership classic at Easter Road that had everything – early drama, a shock equaliser, and a late winner that sent the travelling support into raptures.

Hibs Start Strong at Easter Road

The hosts came flying out the traps, their high press causing Celtic problems in the opening exchanges. Easter Road erupted in the 12th minute when Hibs’ early pressure paid off with a well-worked opener. The noise was deafening as the green half of Edinburgh celebrated going toe-to-toe with the champions.

Celtic Battle Back

But champions find a way. Celtic slowly wrestled control, their possession stats ticking towards 70% as they probed for weaknesses. The equaliser came before halftime, a moment of quality that silenced the home fans just when they dared to dream.

Late Drama Seals It for Celtic

The second half was a proper Premiership scrap, both sides trading blows. Just when it seemed destined for a draw, Celtic struck in the dying minutes. The away end exploded as green and white scarves whirled in the Edinburgh night. Hibs players slumped to the turf – so close yet so far against their illustrious rivals.

For Celtic, this was a statement win that keeps them marching on at the top. For Hibs, cruel disappointment but pride in pushing the champions all the way. These are the games that make the Premiership special – where passion and drama trump everything.
