Jakupović Fires Double as Vitória SC Thrash Marítimo 5-0

Vitória SC Obliterate Marítimo 5-0 in Primeira Liga Rout

Vitória SC annihilated Marítimo 5-0 in a blistering Primeira Liga display at Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, with Arnel Jakupović’s brace spearheading a performance that left the visitors shell-shocked.

Vitória SC’s Relentless Pressure Pays Early

The hosts signalled their intent from the first whistle, forcing Marítimo into a flurry of early bookings. Raphael Guzzo and Tomás Tavares both saw yellow in a chaotic 36th minute, and just two minutes later, Jakupović punished their ragged defence – ghosting into the box to slot home the opener. Worse followed for the visitors when Paulo Henrique turned into his own net three minutes after half-time, a cruel deflection summing up their dismal night.

Marítimo Collapse Under Vitória’s Onslaught

Oumar Camara made it three on the hour, hammering home from close range before Jakupović struck again in the 76th minute, pouncing on Fábio Silva’s cutback. Substitute Yeimar Mosquera rubbed salt in wounds with a fifth in stoppage time, Alan’s pinpoint cross capping a humiliating evening for Marítimo. The stats told a brutal story – 16 shots to 10, 58% possession, and an xG of 1.82 dwarfing Marítimo’s 0.54.

Primeira Liga Statement from Vitória

This was Vitória at their ruthless best, moving up the table with a statement victory. For Marítimo, stranded in the lower reaches, the manner of collapse will alarm manager Mitchell van der Gaag. Defensive chaos and toothless attack – just two shots on target all night – left them clinging to survival instincts. Vitória march on while Marítimo face a reckoning.
