Real Madrid
Real Madrid stormed to a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League League Stage, with Kylian Mbappé twisting the knife late as Bernardo Silva, Arda Güler, and Yan Diomande completed the demolition.
The Bernabéu hummed with that old European electricity, but Leipzig started bright – Nkunku darting, Raum overlapping. Then Silva struck. Not with thunder, but surgical precision – a 43rd-minute dagger that left Leipzig gasping on the ropes.
Real Madrid Turn the Screws After Break
If the first half was a chess match, the second was target practice. Güler announced himself on 52 minutes, Mbappé’s pass slicing Leipzig open like a scalpel before the 18-year-old tucked it away with veteran cool. At 2-0, Madrid’s 65% possession became a slow suffocation.
Leipzig’s triple substitution at 63 minutes screamed desperation. Reitz’s immediate yellow card for scything down Vinícius summed up their unraveling. And then came Mbappé – that burst, that finish on 83 minutes. Poetry in white.
RB Leipzig’s Lone Moment of Pride
Gomis’ 85th-minute consolation was Leipzig’s brief rebellion, a flicker before the inevitable. Because Madrid weren’t done – Diomande rising to head home just two minutes later. Four goals, four different scorers, and a message sent across Europe.
Mourinho prowled his technical area grinning. Demichelis sank into his seat. The gulf was brutal: 18 shots to 11, 11 on target to Leipzig’s six. A masterclass.
What This Means for Real Madrid & RB Leipzig
Madrid march on, Mbappé and Bellingham weaving magic, Güler announcing his arrival. They’re not just winning – they’re enthralling. For Leipzig? Questions. That backline was carved open time and again. If Champions League nights reveal character, this was a warning.
Next up: more League Stage fireworks. Madrid scent blood. Leipzig face a reckoning.
