Salah Inspires Trabzonspor to Crush Beşiktaş 2-0

Trabzonspor Clinch Vital Süper Lig Victory Over Beşiktaş

Trabzonspor struck twice to sink Beşiktaş 2-0 in a fiery Süper Lig clash at the Şenol Güneş Stadium, reigniting their European ambitions while crushing their rivals’ momentum. Ozan Tufan’s first-half bullet and Mohamed Salah’s lethal second-half finish proved decisive in a match where Beşiktaş’s 62% possession counted for nothing against Trabzonspor’s ruthless efficiency.

Trabzonspor Strike First Against the Run of Play

The home side weathered early pressure before landing a sucker punch in the 21st minute. Ozan Tufan, arriving late into the box, met a loose clearance with a thunderous half-volley that left Alexander Nübel rooted – his first goal of the season sparking delirium in the stands. Beşiktaş’s frustration boiled over when Fabio Miretti saw yellow for a reckless challenge just 11 minutes later, sparking a melee that earned Trabzonspor’s Fabinho an equal caution.

Salah Seals It for Trabzonspor

After absorbing wave after wave of attacks (Beşiktaş registered 19 total shots to Trabzonspor’s 13), the hosts killed the game in the 71st minute. Franculino’s threaded through ball found Salah in acres of space, and the Egyptian king made no mistake – slotting home his fifth league goal this campaign. Beşiktaş’s night descended further into chaos with four more yellow cards, including one for substitute Kevin Ouattara in stoppage time after a cynical foul.

What This Means for Both Clubs

This precious victory sees Trabzonspor climb to fifth, just three points off the European places. For Beşiktaş, their third defeat in eight games leaves their title hopes hanging by a thread. The Istanbul giants dominated possession and territory but lacked cutting edge, their 1.19 xG paling against Trabzonspor’s ruthlessly efficient 2.35. As the Black Sea celebrations continue late into the night, Beşiktaş face a brutal inquest before hosting leaders Fenerbahçe next week.
