Mbappé Double Powers Real Madrid’s 4-1 Sevilla Rout

Real Madrid 4-1 Sevilla – La Liga Matchday 9

The Santiago Bernabéu erupted as Real Madrid dismantled Sevilla 4-1 in a ruthless La Liga display, with Kylian Mbappé’s deadly double underlining their title credentials. From the opening exchanges, José Mourinho’s side played with the swagger of champions, their 65% possession and 15 shots to Sevilla’s 11 telling the story of absolute control.

Sevilla’s Resistance Crumbles Before Half-Time

The breakthrough came on the half-hour when 18-year-old Arda Güler announced himself on the big stage, finishing coolly after Yan Diomande’s incisive pass split Sevilla’s defence. Seven minutes later, Mbappé doubled the lead with brutal efficiency, converting Jude Bellingham’s threaded through-ball past a helpless Odisseas Vlachodimos. Sevilla’s frustration boiled over with Felix Correia’s early yellow card, their defensive shape collapsing under relentless pressure.

Real Madrid Turn the Screw After the Break

Any Sevilla hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Mbappé converted a 63rd-minute penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way with icy composure. Though Manuel Bueno briefly reduced the deficit with a neat finish ten minutes from time, Diomande restored the three-goal cushion within 120 seconds, hammering home Aurélien Tchouaméni’s cross to cap a masterful midfield display from the Ivorian.

La Liga Title Race Heats Up

This was statement-making football from Real Madrid – their 2.32 xG dwarfing Sevilla’s 0.81 as they recorded eight shots on target. For Luis García’s visitors, the gulf in class was stark, their 35% possession and mere two corners highlighting a night where they were outthought and outfought. Madrid march on with ominous momentum, while Sevilla must regroup fast before this defeat damages their European ambitions.
