Remo Salvages Gritty 1-1 Draw vs Bragantino

Remo clawed back from a goal down to snatch a 1-1 draw against RB Bragantino in a Serie A Matchday 31 clash that crackled with disallowed goals, tactical tweaks, and late drama at the Estadio do Remo.

Bragantino’s early breakthrough

The visitors struck first when Lucas Henrique Barbosa silenced the home crowd in the 10th minute, slotting home past Ivan after Remo’s high defensive line was breached. Bragantino thought they’d doubled their lead in the 36th minute through Fernando dos Santos Pedro, only for VAR to cruelly chalk it off – a decision that visibly deflated the traveling support.

Remo’s tactical response

Thiago Carpini rolled the dice at halftime, introducing Jandir Breno and José Welison in a double change that shifted momentum. The gamble paid dividends when Jandir – just ten minutes after his introduction – latched onto Gabriel Taliari’s through ball to equalize in the 55th minute, sending the Curinto into raptures.

Yellow cards for Zé Ivaldo (48′) and Gabriel Taliari (79′) punctuated Remo’s increasingly physical approach as they fought to protect their hard-earned point. Bragantino’s Eric Ramires also saw yellow in the 64th minute during a fractious midfield battle.

Late drama in Serie A clash

Both managers emptied their benches in the final quarter-hour, with five Bragantino substitutions including the introduction of Fábio Silva in the 86th minute as they chased a winner. But Remo’s rearguard – marshaled superbly by Marcelinho – held firm despite being out-shot 16-25 on the night.

The result leaves both sides ruing missed opportunities in a match where xG (Remo 1.54 – 2.54 Bragantino) suggested more goals should have come. For Bragantino, it’s two points dropped in their continental chase. For Remo under Carpini, another testament to their growing resilience after falling behind – they’ve now taken points from losing positions in three of their last five home matches.
