Wlk Stunner Sinks Platense as Lanus Snatch 1-0 Win

Lanus Edge Tense Clausura Battle Against Platense

Platense 0-1 Lanus. The Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López fell silent in the 29th minute as Allan Wlk’s ruthless finish decided this Argentinian Clausura Round 13 grudge match, sending the traveling fans into raptures.

Platense Dominate Possession But Lanus Strike First

The home side controlled 56% possession early but lacked cutting edge. Lanus made them pay against the run of play when Sasha Marcich’s visionary through ball split the defense, allowing Wlk to slot coolly past Cozzani. Platense’s frustration boiled over as Victor Cuesta saw yellow for a cynical foul on Wlk minutes earlier.

Lanus Dig Deep to Protect Slim Advantage

Matías Sepúlveda’s booking just before halftime summed up Lanus’ approach – rugged, disciplined, sacrificing flair for fight. Platense threw everything forward after the break, racking up 16 shots including 3 on target, but Losada stood firm. When substitute Ramiro Carrera replaced the tiring Sepúlveda in the 68th minute, Lanus effectively parked the bus.

What This Means For Both Sides

For Lanus, this smash-and-grab victory – secured despite just 44% possession and 9 total shots – proves their Championshipping credentials under Pellegrino. Platense’s wastefulness (1.72 xG yielding zero goals) leaves them ruing missed chances. The result tightens the Clausura table as both teams eye continental qualification with 5 rounds remaining.
