Savarino’s Hat-Trick Inspires Fluminense’s 4-0 Thrashing of Coritiba

Fluminense’s Dominance Seals 4-0 Win Over Coritiba

Fluminense delivered a masterclass in Serie A Round 29, thrashing Coritiba 4-0 in a match that showcased their attacking prowess and tactical superiority. Jefferson David Savarino Quintero was the hero of the night, netting a hat-trick that left Coritiba in tatters.

Savarino’s First Half Opener

The breakthrough came in the 30th minute when Savarino found the back of the net, assisted by Hulk. The goal was a testament to Fluminense’s attacking fluidity, as they orchestrated play with precision and purpose. Coritiba struggled to gain a foothold, managing only 32% possession in the first half.

Second Half Onslaught

Fluminense wasted no time after the break, with Savarino doubling their lead in the 49th minute, this time assisted by Thiago Silva. The home side’s dominance was evident as they unleashed 13 shots inside the box, keeping Coritiba’s defense on their toes. By the 65th minute, Savarino completed his hat-trick, finishing a well-worked move set up by Kevin Serna.

Luciano Acosta Seals the Deal

Coritiba’s misery was compounded in stoppage time when Luciano Acosta added a fourth goal, assisted by Wesley Natã de Freitas Prado. The strike was the final blow in a match where Coritiba failed to register a single shot on target, highlighting their attacking inefficiency.

What This Means Moving Forward

This resounding victory propels Fluminense further up the Serie A table, cementing their status as serious contenders. For Coritiba, the match serves as a stark reminder of the gulf in quality, leaving them with much to ponder as they aim to salvage their season. With the league campaign heating up, both teams will look to build on this result, albeit in vastly different directions.
