Ronaldo Inspires Rout as Al-Nassr Crush Al Diriyah 3-0

Al-Nassr Dominate Riyadh Derby with 3-0 Pro League Masterclass

Cristiano Ronaldo led the charge as Al-Nassr dismantled city rivals Al Diriyah 3-0 in a one-sided Pro League Round 8 clash that showcased their title credentials. The King Fahd Stadium erupted after 23 minutes when Ronaldo pounced with typical predatory instinct, latching onto a loose ball to give Ange Postecoglou’s men the lead.

Al Diriyah’s resistance crumbled just 12 minutes later when Joao Felix danced past two challenges before squaring for Samu Costa to tap home – the Portuguese playmaker’s telepathic understanding with Ronaldo already terrorizing Saudi defences. VAR denied the visitors a lifeline before half-time when Darwin Nunez’s penalty appeal was overturned, compounding the misery after yellow cards for Chancel Mbemba and Abdulaziz Al Faraj.

Al Diriyah Collapse Under Relentless Pressure

Bruno Lage’s halftime team talk sparked brief resistance, but Al-Nassr’s 52% possession and 17 shots told the story of relentless pressure. Kingsley Coman put the game beyond doubt on 77 minutes, finishing a sweeping counter-attack started by Sadio Mane. The French winger’s celebration said everything – this was a statement victory.

Statistics painted a brutal picture for Al Diriyah: just 1 shot on target all game, compared to Al-Nassr’s 10. When their third substitution saw Idrissa Gueye replaced by Meshari Fahad Al Nemer after 84 minutes, it felt like damage limitation rather than tactical adjustment.

Postecoglou’s Al-Nassr Send Title Warning

This was more than three points for Al-Nassr. Ronaldo’s early strike set the tone for a performance brimming with title intent – their third straight Pro League win moving them ominously up the table. For Al Diriyah, Lage has work to do after a derby humiliation that exposed defensive frailties.

As the floodlights faded over Riyadh, Al-Nassr’s supporters sang long into the night. When Ronaldo applauded them at full-time, you sensed this was the beginning of something special. For their city rivals? A brutal reminder of the gulf between ambition and reality.
